Five Tri-County high school football players were selected to the South Carolina Shrine Bowl roster on Sunday afternoon as both rosters for theclash with North Carolina on Dec. 16 were announced via social media.

Two of the area’s top quarterbacks will be sharing playing time for the Sandlappers as Fort Dorchester’s Dakereon Joyner and Oceanside Collegiate’s Sam Hartman were two of the three quarterbacks selected, joining South Pointe and Clemson verbal Derion Kendrick.

Cross linebacker Nathan Walker, Fort Dorchester receiver Justin Williams and Summerville offensive lineman Jackson Hutto were the other locals selected to the roster.

Hartman currently leads the state in passing yardage with 2,344 yards and 24 touchdowns. Hartman threw for 451 yards and six touchdowns in a recent win over Wade Hampton (H) and is a Wake Forest verbal commitment. He transferred to Oceanside Collegiate from Davidson Day School in North Carolina prior to this season.
