On Sunday, South Carolina quarterback commitment Dakereon Joyner was among the quarterbacks who trained with former Gamecocks QB Perry Orth.

Orth, who founded QB1 Athletics earlier this year, returned to Columbia on Saturday for a session, followed by Sunday’s workout in Summerville, S.C.

Joyner, a 4-star recruit from Fort Dorchester High School in North Charleston, S.C., committed to the Gamecocks on Father’s Day. According to the 247Sports composite, he’s ranked as the No. 9 dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2018.

Orth, who’s originally from Ponte Vedra, Fla., walked on at South Carolina in 2013 before earning the starting quarterback job in 2015 during his junior season. Over the course of his four-year career, he threw for 2,595 yards with 12 touchdowns.
