Cane Bay High School’s football team extended its win streak to six games by prevailing in another nail-biter.

Kris Copeland rushed for 134 yards and a 73-yard touchdown and also returned a kickoff 79 yards for a score to power the Cobras to a 24-21 victory over visiting Hilton Head in a Region 8-AAAA clash on Friday at CBHS.

Defensive back Kalib Stewart’s interception inside the Cobra 5-yard line with less than 30 seconds left preserved the win. Hilton Head quarterback Collin Kaiser was pressured by Cane Bay linebacker Chase Smith on the play.

The Cobras improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the region heading into a home tilt with Stall High School on Friday.
